Empowering Research, Enhancing Care, Saving Lives
Who We Are
Cancer Data Exchange of Wisconsin (CDEoW) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving cancer research and patient care by facilitating secure and efficient data sharing. Our goal is to empower researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers with accurate, comprehensive data to drive innovation in cancer treatment.
Cancer is one of the most complex and challenging diseases of our time, and we believe that data holds the key to breakthroughs in early detection, precision medicine, and effective treatment solutions. By bridging the gap between healthcare institutions and research organizations, we enable collaborative efforts that accelerate discoveries and bring real-world impact to cancer care.

The Beginning of a Vision
The fight against cancer is one of the most urgent challenges of our time. At Cancer Data Exchange of Wisconsin (CDEoW), we were founded on the belief that data is the key to unlocking new breakthroughs in cancer research, improving treatment outcomes, and ultimately saving lives. Our journey began with a simple yet powerful realization—cancer research is only as effective as the data behind it.
For years, researchers, healthcare providers, and policymakers faced a major barrier: limited access to comprehensive, high-quality cancer data. Data was often scattered across different institutions, locked away in isolated systems, or burdened by privacy concerns that made meaningful collaboration difficult. We saw an opportunity to bridge this gap—to create a centralized, secure, and accessible cancer data network that would empower experts to work together in ways never before possible.
Building a Collaborative Future
Our mission became clear: to facilitate the secure and efficient exchange of cancer-related data across Wisconsin, ensuring that researchers and medical professionals could access, analyze, and utilize data to accelerate cancer discoveries. By working alongside hospitals, cancer centers, universities, and public health agencies, we developed a system that brings together real-world clinical data, treatment insights, and AI-powered analytics to revolutionize cancer research.
Through our Healthcare Data Integration Program, we established secure partnerships that allow medical institutions to share de-identified patient data while maintaining strict privacy and security standards. We built our Cancer Data Repository as a groundbreaking resource, offering researchers a comprehensive database of cancer-related insights to support early detection, precision medicine, and treatment innovations. We also embraced artificial intelligence and big data analytics, ensuring that cutting-edge technology is used to uncover trends, detect cancer earlier, and improve patient care strategies.

Empowering Communities & Patients
Beyond research, we knew that data isn’t just for scientists—it’s for patients, families, and communities. Cancer affects real people, and they deserve access to knowledge, resources, and support. That’s why we expanded our efforts to include Patient & Community Engagement initiatives, focusing on:
Advocacy efforts to influence public health policies, ensuring that cancer data informs decision-making and resource allocation.
Educational programs to raise awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment options.
Support networks that connect cancer patients and survivors, providing guidance and encouragement.
Our Commitment to the Future
Today, Cancer Data Exchange of Wisconsin stands at the forefront of data-driven cancer research and innovation. We are proud to be a trusted partner to researchers, healthcare providers, policymakers, and patients who rely on our expertise to drive change. But our work is far from over.
We envision a future where cancer is detected earlier, treated more effectively, and ultimately eradicated. A future where every research study has the data it needs, every doctor has the insights to personalize care, and every patient has access to the best possible treatment. We are committed to expanding our data network, integrating new technologies, and strengthening collaborations to turn this vision into reality.
